Resetting Allocation Points

Today we decided to reset our allocation points and redistribute them. I really needed too b/c when I first started, i didn't know where to put them and ended up wasting a lot in useless stats. Anyway, it was kinda hard to find the info out there on where to go to do this.
It's the Adventuring Assigner and i don't know where else he may be, but there is one in Khal. In the Port Watch Barracks. He does it for free the first time and charges each time after that.

PoA update

well apparently the PoA quest line has been turned off. Something about turning it into a raid zone. yay. i really wanted that cloak. and it will be months before i can raid. sigh. oh well. i'll just find something else to do.

Vanguard frustration

One of the most frustrating things about this game is the lack of info out there. I feel like a retard half the time for not being able to figure this crap out. But with games like EQ and EQII there was always tons of info out there on the net.
But not for Vanguard. For example, we were wanting to check out the PoA quest line. But can't figure out where to start it and who it starts with. It's ridiculous. There are some posts talking about various quests. but no one says who to find to start the quests and where the NPC is located. I could ask in ooc, sure. but that most often results in smart ass responses instead of useful info.
One more reason i wanted to do this blog. to try and put info out there for other players. unfortunatly i don't always have the time it takes to keep it updated.
When i figure this out, i'll be sure to update for the next player wanting to start PoA.

The Summoning

I think that's what it's called. anyway, today we finished up that part of the CIS line of quests. You go into this area where these cultists are performing some ceremony and you jack up their alter. It screws everything up and this giant golem comes to life and kills them all while you watch. It is very important that you don't get involved here and you WAIT until it becomes a spirit form before talking to it. We ran up when all the cultists were dead and my group member said "talk to her!". I clicked on the giant stone beast and was promptly slaughtered. Thank god I was with a cleric who rezzed me.

Randolph

Oh yea. one more. LOL
I have to say that Randolph is the COOLEST thing VG has done in a while. I always love the whole frostfell season, etc. But Randolph is SO MUCH cooler than candy that transforms you and stuff. I'm sure it really gets under the skin of long time, hardcore players to see all these newbs on a blazing fast mount, but i love it. If it weren't for Randolph, the shadowhound quest would have taken FOREVER!! I will CRY when he goes away!! THANK YOU DEVS!!!

Shadowhound mount

Photobucket

Woo!! So I finally got a cool ass shadowhound mount. It was a bitch of a quest. Not difficult, just looong. Hundreds of mobs to kill. 30 here 40 there 35 here etc etc etc. But it was fun. and I love the shadowhound. Most of the info we followed was found here.

This is us taking out the final guy before you get the collar for the mount (you still have to go back to the original quest guy and buy a saddle before you can actually use the mount). Anyway, when you get to this point, you just focus on killing off Nerail and ignore the hounds. They despawn as soon as he is dead. Uhm. yea anyway. I'd post more, but yea, another quest awaits...

Vanguard

Hello. My name is Lisa and I am an addict.
The funny thing about MMOs is that you play so much, you just don't seem to have time to blog or do much else. I haven't checked my email in days. Haven't logged into myspace. Just totally consumed with vanguard and finishing the shadowhound quest. We finished last night. And yet, still today we have played vanguard all day. Literally. It's an addiction.
When I first started playing, I can't tell you how many days i called into work just so we could finish a quest or I could get a little closer to dinging a new level. I suppose it's just a great escape. It's a place you can immerse yourself and not worry about day to day stresses like bills and money and too much of the former and not enough of the later. So yea. I'm an addict.
I'd write more but I have to get back to telon.
AND figure out WHY my head keeps changing to "evil snowman"!!

first post...

ok so I've been playing Vanguard on and off for a year and a half. It was my first experience with an MMO. Before Vanguard, I didn't even KNOW what an MMO was. Anyway, I was pretty much hooked from the minute I started designing my character. Being a chick, i guess that kinda useless crap means a lot more to me. Of course I spent an hour getting her to look as much like me as possible. lol
My first character was a disciple. I later created an alt warrior. I found that I REALLY loved playing a tank. I had started a new account when I later started playing EQII and when I merged my accounts, they couldn't transfer my characters for whatever reason. SO i lost both of them and started over. I am now a dark elf dread knight. I am still learning how to play my character. I pretty much just duo with my husband. He plays a cleric. We just finished the shadow hound quest. I intend to post pix and info on all the quests we do b/c it seems hard to find info on some of these things. Maybe it will help some other adventurer.
